Stifling
in his shirt and jacket
his skin chafes under his packed belt,
the trigger cord snaking into his pocket
through a hole in his pants
he doesn’t want to do it
His heart thumps
palms sweat
his head feels thick, woolen
bile rises in his throat
He hesitates,
gags, swallows
takes a deep breath
as the bus screeches to the curb

I love your work! The line breaks are great. along with my Peel blog I also have a poetry blog (I’m hoping to smoosh the two this week, as I haven’t touched the poetry one in months).
It’s called “I Tease them out, poems.”
Thank you so much for stopping by, commenting, and subscribing, Jocellyn. And thank you so much for your kind words about my writing, I truly appreciate it! Stop by again soon.
This writing has the effect & image of the uncanny, painful unrelenting life.
You have obviously been writing & thinking for a long time.
Thank you so much for your comment. I am pleased, proud, and deeply honored that you think so highly of my work. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and leave your comments here, I am so glad that you enjoyed my poem. And thank you so much for subscribing to my blog as well.
